The Position
The mission of the Director of Music is to help lead our members in worship through music that supports the Mission and Vision of Grace Covenant. The ability to play the organ is a benefit.
The Director of Music will report to the Senior Pastor, Head of Staff at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church.
The Person
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and passion for music that will use gifts God provided to bring our covenant partners closer to Christ. Someone who is relational, and who understands both the need for excellence in music, and the need for grace when working with volunteers.
This person should be a partner with our Senior Pastor in worship, experienced in teaching, engaging with all ages, and committed to prayer and worship.

We are seeking a music director to direct our choir, play the piano and/or organ, and join us in worship.
We Are Seeking Someone Who:
- Has a proven ability to work with choir and other volunteer ensembles
- Demonstrates considerable musical skill (e.g. vocal direction, piano, organ)
- Is comfortable with the mission and convictions of Grace Covenant
- Is familiar with the Tenets of ECO – A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians ( view )
- Understands the role of music in Presbyterian worship
- Engages collaboratively with Senior Pastor, staff, and covenant partners
- Embraces traditional Presbyterian hymnody and is open to diverse musical expressions
Responsibilities of the Music Director
- Lead music at Sunday worship services and throughout the church year
- Schedule and lead regular rehearsals for choir and ensembles
- Coordinate volunteers involved in music ministry
- Select music in collaboration with the Senior Pastor
- Maintain music resources, instruments, robes, and library
- Offer ideas to improve the church’s music ministry
- Attend staff and committee meetings as needed
- Demonstrate skill in directing and playing instruments
- Be present for major services such as Advent, Holy Week, and Cantatas
Employment and Compensation
This is a 15–20 hours/week salaried position accountable to the Senior Pastor.
Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid vacation, professional dues, and more to be discussed with qualified candidates.
